sTandard Insurance
In Fall of 2008 Standard Insurance installed a photovoltaic solar electric system on their office in Hillsboro, Oregon. This installation uses 470 SunPower modules, for a total of 101 KW of energy production. The DC power is fed into a PV Powered 100 KW inverter and converted to AC power to be used in the building and fed into the grid when excess energy is produced.
Every year the system will produce approximently 95,507 kWh of electricity.* Over the estimated 35 year lifespan of the system, the energy produced will offset over 2,507 tons of CO2, or approximently 259,000 gallons of gasoline.
