OLSSON Industrial ELECTRIC
In December, 2008 Olsson Industrial Electric in partnership with Advanced Energy Systems activated a 78.3 KW Solar Electric System on their own building in Springfield. The system utilizes (364) high efficiency REC 215 watt modules. The modules are mounted on a custom Uni-Rac high profile racking system. The power from the modules is routed through (1) PV Powered 75 KW Inverter before connecting to the grid. The net metering agreement with SUB (Springfield Utility Board) credits Olsson Industrial Electric when production is in excess of usage.
The PV System has substantial environmental impacts. Over its lifetime the system is expected to save/offset an equivalent amount of energy as 2,100 tons of CO2, 224,700 gallons of gasoline, or 6,500 trees.
