Mount Hood Community College
In the fall of 2008 Mount Hood Community College installed a 100 KW photovoltaic system. The system is comprised of 440 SunPower 230 watt modules, a SatCon 100 KW inverter, and a T-10 racking system. Every year the system will produce approximently 104,006 kWh of electricity.* Over the estimated 35 year lifespan of the system, the energy produced will offset over 2700 tons of CO2, 282,091 gallons of gasoline, or over 20 acres of forest preserved from deforestation.
Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC), located in the shadow of majestic Mount Hood, serves approximately 27,000 students annually. Classes are offered at the Gresham Campus, Maywood Park Campus, Bruning Center for Allied Health Education and public schools within the district. Offering more than 60 professional and technical programs and a variety of university transfer opportunities, MHCC prepares students for their future.
The community surrounding MHCC has grown in the last few years and continues to demonstrate growth. A diverse group of people makes up the community, and MHCCs student body mirrors this diversity. The College is committed to remaining accessible to an ever-increasing population with diverse needs.
Whether students are interested in pursuing a professional-technical degree, transferring to a four-year institution or taking personal enrichment courses, MHCC is the place for community members to accomplish their goals and accomplish their dreams.
MHCC is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The College is financed by local property tax revenue, state reimbursement funds and student tuition.
