ERIC HALL architects

In November, 2008 Eric Hall Architects in partnership with Advanced Energy Systems activated a 12.2 KW Solar Electric System. The system utilizes (40) high efficiency SunPower 305 watt modules. The modules are mounted on a custom T-10 racking system that is held to the roof with ballast. The power from the modules is routed through (1) SMA 5000 watt and (1) SMA 7000 watt Inverters before connecting to the grid. The net metering agreement with EWEB (Eugene Water and Electric Board) credits Eric Hall Architects when production is in excess of usage. A custom built roof deck was added to the Eric Hall architect building was added to the south side of the building because the east west roofs had a steep orientation which would have been impractical for solar.

The PV System has substantial environmental impacts. Over its lifetime the system will save/offset an equivalent amount of energy as 340 tons of CO2, 35,500 gallons of gasoline, or 1,000 trees.
