We are pretty proud of this effort, and wanted to share our press release on this blog.12/04/2012 - Eugene, Or. Advanced Energy Systems, LLC., one of Oregon's largest and most experienced solar contractors recently passed the cumulative milestone of 9 Megawatts of installed solar energy systems in Oregon. Utility Scale Battery Systems
Most renewable energy systems have variable production over the course of a given day. Unlike gas, coal, or nuclear power plants, renewable energy production cannot be easily increased or decreased to accommodate usage characteristics. A good example of this is the time-of-day production of a solar energy system; power is only produced during a particular solar access window. As utilities begin incorporating more renewable energy into their power mix the ability to store power from variable...
The Importance of Energy Stability
July7, 2012 - There are many reasons people invest in solar for their home or business and everyone would agree that reducing a their carbon footprint is a great reason; however the financials must be weighed, as it is a long term investment. Current utility rates are just that. They are current, meaning they have been a lot lower in the past and there is no reason to believe that they will be decreasing any time in the future unless you start generating some of your own power. The last 30 years ...
Grid Parity
The term Grid Parity is often thrown around within the solar industry, often in a less than positive light. The general idea here is to determine the point at which solar energy will be produced at a cost that is equal to or less than the cost of other energy sources. Currently solar facilities enjoy a number of tax benefits, in addition to local utility incentives. Many proponents of coal, nuclear, and gas based energy sources point to these subsidies as being an undesirable leg up for an...
